Our counselling in Copenhagen has existed in various versions since 1949 – the year after the foundation of the association.
Since 2020, the department has been accredited by RådgivningsDanmark, which is a trade association for free social counselling services in Denmark. The accreditation is a special quality seal that shows that we meet a number of requirements for good advice.

Our home is at LGBT+ Denmark’s Secretariat in Vestergade, right by Rådhuspladsen. Our consultancy has both general and specialized legal advice, and we are a team of around 20 permanent counsellors who all work voluntarily.

We strive to have as broad a representation of rainbow people as possible, ranging widely in age, experience, background and professions. Our location in Copenhagen means that we can particularly guide you about offers, networks and activities in the capital area.

During our opening hours, it is possible to come in for a physical meeting with a counsellor. /bookings/">To book a meeting, go to our booking portal. Feel free to bring companions, if you want to bring your partner or parents, for example.

How to find counselling in Copenhagen

We are in the backyard at Vestergade 18. You have to go all the way to the end of the backyard by the gray building where it says 18E. The main door should be open, and on the right you will find the staircase, which you follow to the 2nd floor. Here you can call LGBT+ Denmark and we will come and receive you. If the door is open, you simply find your way to the community center/Library, where a counsellor will pick you up.

Accessibility

At the front door there is a lift to the level difference at the front door. It requires a key card, so should you need to use this, please indicate this when you book an appointment. A counsellor will come down and help operate the lift, and the lift which goes up to the second floor. Inside the secretariat, there is a roof for all level differences. This also applies to our toilet, which you will find inside the kitchen.
