Together we fight for LGBT+ rights

LGBT+ Denmark is a community. This has been the case since the birth of the association in 1948, and that is the only way we can bring about positive change for LGBT+ people.  

As a member, you become part of the community and have a democratic say in the association’s work. At the annual general meeting you have the right to vote, and also have the opportunity to become part of our political committee which helps to shape Denmark’s political direction.  

Your membership also supports the association’s work. LGBT+ Denmark receives financial support in several places, but your membership goes directly to our political efforts at Christiansborg and in the municipalities. 

Three good reasons to become a member

1. LGBT+ Denmark’s voice is only as big as the sum of our members. We are a political community for and by LGBT+ people. With more members and greater representation, our voice is much stronger when we approach politicians with proposals to improve the lives of LGBT+ people.

2. The political fight for rights is not over. Although Denmark is well advanced in the fight for LGBT+ rights, there is still a lot of work to be done. Read our full political programme here.

3. Too many LGBT+ people are still plagued by depression, loneliness and suicidal thoughts. With your membership, you support our counselling, social services and campaigning work, helping to ensure communities and emotional support for LGBT+ people across the country.
